Every person needs to read this book!

I laughed, I cried, and I laughed some more. Jessica Bennett does such a great job explaining the environments of working women today and how to tackle the things that get in our way!

Meh

While I enjoyed the topic, this particular book came off very aggressive and anti-men. It overall had a very negative tone, and focused heavily on maintaining a victim mindset. Because of that, I didn't come out feeling particularly empowered and just left a bad taste in my mouth.

They intend well

It's clear they are really trying to sell this brand of being edgy, and it sometimes gets in the way of their message. It was good, but being angry and identifying the BS is not really enough. Unless you're an activist, it is more helpful to know how to navigate the biased world we live in rather than to straight up fight it.

My feminist fire has been reignited!

I loved this book! It was educations, captivating, hilarious, and inspiring. Bahni Turpin is a fantastic narrator and Jessica Bennett knows how to make a girl feel understood and empowered.

As a recent college graduate, working in my first office job, I found this book to be so helpful in educating myself on the kind of work environment I want to be a part of and how I can conduct myself to my full potential. I highly recommend this book to anyone, working or not, male or female.

I'm definitely going to buy the hard copy to keep on hand :)

Get past the intro tho

Jessica Bennett wrote a funny, whipsmart, desperately needed book that I related to, bookmarked like crazy, and shared with coworkers and friends. But if, like I did, you find her voice grating in the sample, fear not -- she only reads the introduction. The amazing Bahni Turpin (who should win all the awards ever for her narration of "The Hate U Give," "Underground Railroad", and others) takes over from there.

I didn't realize I was a feminist.

I loved the power and playfulness of this book. i always knew I was a strong force to be reckoned with at work, but never realized how much a feminist I already was. I've already put many of these best practices in place and have noticed a difference in the way I'm treated. this book is awesome. I'm starting my own feminist fight club.

Great Read Great Narrator

I loved this book and the ideas. I do not think they were redundant but well needed. I love that strategies to deal with situations and turn them on their head peppered the whole book.

Yay for the Feminist Tool Box

I liked this book, but honestly felt like some of it was a little obvious. It's great at laying out some strategies of how to deal with life and the workplace and maintain your sense of self and feminist viewpoint. Hooray! It's a quick read/audiobook and I listened to it during one day at work. I gave it fewer stars because I felt like some of the advice was similar to what I've gotten on engaging and free podcasts and ended up kind of wishing I hadn't paid for it.

Agree and disagree

I get why the book is written the way it is, however, I think it starts off defensive when these haven't been my experiences in the corporate world. I'm glad it's asking women to stand up for themselves which is needed. There are certain parts that I disagree with about it but I hope it helps someone else.
