In the wake of the seismic events that rocked the Pacific Northwest in Fault 2: Seismic Secrets, the intrepid earthquake investigation team of Robbie, Julie, and Dr. Stone remain stationed in Oregon, dedicated to unraveling the mysteries of the volatile Cascadian subduction zone. However, a distressing call soon interrupts their research from Julie's parents, who temporarily took an Assembly of God church in the small town of Powell, Wyoming.

A jarring 3.5 magnitude earthquake had struck Powell, followed by a series of unnerving aftershocks. Deeply concerned, Robbie and Julie decide to visit her parents the following weekend, setting off on a journey that would lead them into the heart of a seismic maelstrom brewing in the iconic Yellowstone National Park.

As they make their way through Wyoming, reports of increasingly powerful earthquakes flood in, prompting Dr. Stone to join them by catching a flight to Casper. The team wastes no time heading straight for Yellowstone, where a 4.0 quake recently struck near the famous Old Faithful geyser. Dr. Stone's meticulous analysis of the data reveals deeply unsettling patterns, leading him to issue a grave prediction: a major earthquake is imminent within a week.

Heeding Dr. Stone's warning, park authorities restrict access to the affected areas, but the physical damage is dismissed as normal, despite the team's growing concerns. Undeterred, Dr. Stone contacts an old prophet who had relocated to the Cascades, a man named Leonard, who had been graced with a vision about the impending quakes in Yellowstone.

Determined to gather more evidence, Robbie and Dr. Stone launch drones to survey the isolated wilderness areas of the park, capturing chilling footage of landslides and gaping earth cracks, including one massive fissure in the northern reaches. Joined by Leonard and Julie, they charter a helicopter to investigate the fissure firsthand.

But their daring reconnaissance mission takes a catastrophic turn when a powerful quake strikes as they land in the remote wilderness, damaging their helicopter and stranding them without supplies or means of communication. Forced to seek shelter in a large cave as a fierce thunderstorm rages, the team finds themselves in a perilous predicament.

Within the cave's confines, Leonard receives a vision that unveils a crucial, previously unknown fact – a revelation the team vows to investigate upon their return to park headquarters. However, their ordeal takes a dire turn when Dr. Stone falls gravely ill, suspected of suffering a heart attack. As authorities mount a rescue operation, the team can only pray for his survival.

The rescue team eventually locates the stranded group and rushes Dr. Stone to a hospital in Casper, where Leonard remains by his side. Robbie and Julie visit the ailing doctor, but with his condition still touch-and-go, they decide to travel to Powell to seek solace and guidance from Julie's parents.

Meanwhile, Leonard receives a prophetic word and urgently contacts Robbie – a massive earthquake has struck near Old Faithful. Fearing the worst, Robbie and Julie grow increasingly convinced that the volatile super-volcano beneath Yellowstone is on the verge of a cataclysmic eruption.

Though Leonard's vision does not foretell such a volcanic cataclysm, he senses that a catastrophic event of unknown nature looms on the horizon. With Dr. Stone's life hanging by a thread after suffering a heart attack, Leonard maintains a vigil at his bedside, praying fervently for his recovery.

Robbie and Julie return to the park, poring over the data and seismic readings, each arriving at potentially divergent theories about the impending disaster. Their heated disagreement nearly fractures their partnership until they realize that both of their hypotheses could unfold simultaneously.
