Marty Mann The first woman to get sober in Alcoholics Anonymous tells her story in a 1968 talk at San Francisco, CA. This is the best example of Marty Mann recovery story I have heard. The sound quality is very good, which is unusual for a 1968 AA recording. Great audiobook about recovery - historic and enjoyable. Marty was the first woman to achieve lasting sobriety in AA, founder of National Council on Alcoholism, author of at least two books on alcoholism, author of AA's The Big Book story "Women Suffer, Too", and co-founder of The AA Grapevine.

Who does Jesus love? The stranger who looks strange. The driver who cuts us off in traffic. The person online who thinks differently than we do. Loving people is hard. Especially when it involves the difficult people in our lives and those different from us. We say we love others, but really we don’t. Instead of loving, we hurt, belittle, and overlook people. Which is precisely why we need to learn how to love — from Jesus and from one another.

The Digital Age is all about change, but the need for true friendship never changes. But young Edward (Ned) took it in stride, despite not quite knowing what "psychiatrist" meant. With a psychotic father, an alcoholic mother, an abusive stepfather, and two so-called learning disabilities of his own, Ned was accustomed to unpredictable behaviour from those around him and to a mind he felt he couldn't always control.

Annie F. Downs admits she's not exactly the bravest girl in the world. She still cries sometimes when she leaves her parents' home in Georgia, she's never jumped out of a plane, and she rides roller coasters only to impress boys. But Annie knows that courage resides inside each and every one of us, and she's on a mission to triumph over her own fears while encouraging listeners to do the same.

The world goes out of its way to make you believe you are not good enough. Maybe you aren't sure you like where you've been or who you've become. Maybe someone has made you believe a lie about who you are by speaking damaging words to you. The discovery of our true identities does not begin by looking within ourselves but by looking to the One who made us. Hello, My Name Is will inspire you not to wear the nametag that someone else gave you but to wear the name of who God says you are.

Historia
For decades, Kathie Lee has had deep conversations about her faith with anyone who is interested in talking about it. What she discovered early on is most people are very willing to talk about Jesus: atheists, agnostics, Scientologists, Jews, broken-hearted Catholics, confused Baptists, Pentecostals, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Hindus alike. While some of the people Kathie Lee has spoken with do not share her belief that Jesus is the Messiah - as prophesied for centuries by prophets in the Hebrew scriptures - they nonetheless have a universal fascination with him.

fantastic
Father Martin does his best to make the 12 steps something that's easy to understand and to relate to. So often people who suffer from alcoholism just can't bring themselves to acknowledge that fact. And come to the conclusion or come to the understanding that they need help to get better. Father Martin goes out of his way as somebody who is an alcoholic but is recovering two. word everything in a way. that even the layman can understand and realize. That there is hope Alcohol bottom line is something that will destroy us It can destroy your mind and your body. For the brief high that it gives you. It destroys relationships and family dignity. It destroys everything, And you have to get to the point where you have to decide. Is the alcohol worth my existence And I think Father Martin definitely helps you understand that journey a little bit better.
