Winter is coming ...and you're gonna like it!

What a reveal that end was!! Everything hit the fan so fast! I mean you know part of it was coming based on clues sprinkled throughout the book, but dang, the carry though was flawless.

It has been SO long since I've read a book that kept me up all night. Yep. I'm writing this at 4:36 am because feelings. I love paranormal academy books, I just wasn't expecting the amount of swoon in this book. And oh boy does that cover make sense, but not in a way you'll guess. Muahaha.

You get to meet so many great characters. The girl power is strong in this book as everlasting friendships are created. But like obviously, what academy book would be complete without the drams? There's a female rival biotch. Don't you guys worry.

All I can say is, this book. PULLED me in head first. I first listened to the audiobook and then read the book right after. The audiobook narrator is great with emotions , but does make our main girl Summer sound much younger than she is. But that may just be my opinion. *Shrugs*

Regardless of which mode of storytelling you prefer, I highly recommend this for lovers of academy stories and broody mc broody pants romantic partners.

Even my husband got into it

It's not secret that I love Audrey's writing and am obsessed with all her books so I didn't believe this book could get any better...and then I heard it narrated by one of my favorites and suddenly my whole world is shook. Even my husband got right into it. He happened to be around for a couple hours of listening to part of it and was taking about it days later. We may have to organize times to listen to it together again so he can get the whole story 😂 He doesn't care for audiobooks (for shame!) so that's a huge recommendation.
For real, you have to listen to this and fall in love with this world as much as we did!

Amazing!

Ok, Audrey Grey is becoming one of my absolute favorite authors! This book was a phenomenal listen! I loved how creative and unique the story was. It took an entirely different spin on an “academy” and was absolutely amazing. The characters were so rich and vibrant. I loved how cheeky the heroine was and her perspective on things that happened made her really relatable. I thought the way the story just flowed and twisted was perfect, and I had to complete it in a single sitting. I also appreciated the length. It wasn’t just a quick 5 hour listen, but had depth.

As soon as I finished this, I ran to Amazon to see if the next book was out yet. Really enjoyed this and look forward to the next one!

Good start, mediocre ending.

I liked the heroine, she’s feisty but sometimes was a bit immature. The story itself is not bad a bit of a Twilight feel , but there are some holes. I did finish the book and am willing to listen to the next book if on sale. The story was predictable, I guessed at what was going to be the shocking event at the end. The beginning was better than the end. The relationship felt a bit forced and there was a bit too much familiarity with some of the storyline from other things I have read. The hero is over 3000 years old but acts like a moody teen and has a girlfriend on the side, so I didn’t love him. Plus, I don’t get the desire to be with someone who’s body is cold. I would hate that; it would be like lying next to a corpse. Overall, above mediocre Narrator was fairly good.

Summary:
Summer thought her life was difficult after the Fae arrived killing anyone who happened to be in the territory they took control of. Summer found herself in a change until she was rescued by a woman who became her aunt. Summer in turn took in other children who was starving. Unfortunately, the stronger families took control of all the resources leaving Summer to fight to feed her family. She wasn’t above stealing from the people who took their food, but when she was caught she took a chance a crossed into the Fae territory and that one move changed her life forever. With the Fae you never know what their actions truly are and when Summer takes a chance taking some fruit to feed the children she finds herself a slave to the Winter Prince for the next four years. The Fae are known for the cruelty and what Summer finds reinforces that belief. What is surprising is Summer’s immediate and uncontrollable feelings for the Winter Prince.
Add to that deadly creatures, mean girls who are gunning for Summer, and a mystery of why Summer keeps feeling that she has known the Winter Prince before. New friends and enemies were made as a new year at the Evermore Academy began. What Summer will find in her new life is left to be seen.

This was a fascinating, fast paced paranormal story that takes the reader into the lives of the characters. The Winter Prince in a unique character who has secrets that could change Summers life forever. The conflict between the Fae, humans and Darklings came to life in all the terror and beauty they endured as their story unfolded.

Hooked

I needed a book to fill the void while I wait on my favorite series’ next book. I shouldn’t have started with this one because I got hooked quick!! Such a great story line with twists and turns. Some predictable some completely smacking me in the face!! I cannot wait to listen to the next book!

Wonderfully Written

This book was very good, the descriptions were so vivid and detailed you can literally picture it in you mind. I would admit sometimes the heroine got in my nerves a little bit , but I do like her character. My favorite character is Ruby…lol. I can’t wait to see the 2nd book.

Great story

although the voice narating is VERY fast, the book was greatly enjoyable. I look forward to the next book release.
