Great YA fiction for youth and adults alike

So great to have a female protagonist that I would be happy to have my daughter look up to. She’s strong and balanced, but they still give her character a good arc. Despite her circumstances, they give her loads of agency and she is well-rounded and vital. The male protagonist is well-written and doesn’t fall into the same old YA patterns. He starts out flawed, for sure, but his character grows. There’s some really interesting experimenting done with the idea of identity and gender and their interplay.

They do fantastic world-building for the book without weighing it down with excessive detail. The secondary and even tertiary characters are colorful and interesting. It’s a fun ride from start to finish and I wish it had been around when I was a teen. Very much looking forward to reading the next one when it comes out. And probably the movie that someone somewhere is probably already planning.

Great start to the trilogy!

The narrators were phenomenal to put it mildly. they did a great job capturing the voice of the characters Eve and Bram.

The story itself was engaging and well written.

The first issue I had with the story was the authors excessive descriptions on how fat one of the characters was. Anytime that one character spoke, walked, stood in a doorway it was all about how fat they we're. No other character was described in terms of body fat.

The second and last issue was that towards the end it got dramatic. I realize that the book is about a 16 year old girl and an 18 year old boy so the drama is going to happen no matter what. It felt like the writers were in a hurry to push the plot forward in the second half of the book.

That being said, this did contain some surprises and didn't take the most obvious route. The narrators made this a delight to listen to. I didn't get bored once.

Worth it!

Amazing story, can't wait for the sequel

I started it and in less then 3 days I had finished this audiobook. its such an easy book to take in, i loved the story and the way it's written

Eve of Man Review

I decided to read this book as a part of the Livre D'Amour book club. The title and description of this book had me questioning whether or not I would actually enjoy reading this novel. I am not familiar with the authors and quickly noticed that obtaining this novel was a bit of a challenge. I was fortunate enough to obtain this novel from the Amazon warehouse, however some of the book club members had some trouble locating a copy. My guess is that we struggled to obtained copies since this novel came from a UK based publishing house. However, the hunt for this novel was totally worth it!

This novel was extremely interesting from the beginning. I was so drawn in by the first couple of chapters, and I simply could not put the book down. I wanted to keep reading more and more about this amazing story! The future of humanity the authors create gave me anxiety, and I needed to know what the future held for the human race.

From the very beginning, I followed the rising tension in this story. I was able to follow the curiosity of the characters and became so invested in the story and interested in the secrets they would unravel. This story read like a movie, and the tension and action was well-crafted and portrayed. I enjoyed every bit of this novel and was excited to know that this novel was the first in the trilogy. I cannot wait to see what is in store for these characters.

Audible Review

Ritchie and Dylan do an amazing work! Perhaps I am bias because I love their accent so much, but this was one of the most enjoyable narrations I have heard. I had no problem getting into this story and their narration made the novel all that much more enjoyable. For those of us who like to multitask and listen on the go, I recommend listening at a 1.5 speed, so one does not miss anything. For those who are listening while reading the book, I found 2.0 and 2.5 speed to be the best speeds. 3.0 was too fast for me, and I was missing a lot of what the narrator was saying and had to eventually slow down the narrator's reading speed.

Omg, I'm so exicted!

I got this book from the library, and I'm on Chapter Six, but then I got curious. Is it on Audible? I typed the title in, and YES! There it was. I am restarting the actual book from the beginning, so I can read and listen to it at the same time. I am so happy. Thank you, Audible!

After reading a bunch of awful books lately this book was refreshing. Excellent story, can't wait for the next!

Tom and Gi have created a wonderful world that is unmatched. Part dystopian adventure, part romance Eve Of Man is a brilliant read!

Best Book I’ve Read In While

This was a great book. I loved the dual narration. They both did amazing. This is my favorite genre of book, and lately I’ve been in a slump where nothing could catch my attention. This had it from the beginning. Even had me crying in the car pickup line. Highly recommend!
