Had anyone asked Webster Madision, real world loser and superhero roleplayer extraordinaire, that question, he would have had to say 'no'. Last he knew, he was on his way home from a session of a buddy's RPG that had run really late. Now he's waking up in the strangest room he's ever been in, in the body of his favorite roleplaying PC, and an alien Big Head is telling him he's here to compete with 31 other transformed gamers just like him, for the biggest prize imaginable. To a real world loser like Webster, with no girl friend, a shitty job, and a bitchy landlord who is always coming around looking for back rent, it doesn't sound bad at all.

And all he has to do is survive a few minor, unimportant, trivial little trials and tests...

Having decided to stay and play the Game, Webster finds himself enmeshed as a living chess piece in a contest whose rules he cannot comprehend, and where any misstep can result in sudden, horrible, grisly death - while the alien overlords responsible for Webster and 31 other superhero gamer's transformations arduously test their new champions, often to destruction.

Those champions who survive these initial trials will be sent on a mysterious mission even more hazardous than the game itself, with an enormous reward waiting at the end for the victors... literally any wish they make will be granted by their alien abductors.

Or so they are all told… but Webster suspects that in a world where no one is what they appear to be, nothing is what it seems, and possibly not one single thing they have been told is is the truth, either… and if he cannot somehow determine reality from illusion in this lethal labyrinth of perilous power, neither Webster nor any of his fellow super powered pawns will make it through the ENDGAME alive…
