El creador de la inmortalidad yacía inmóvil sobre el asfalto.
Primero, inventó la inmortalidad. De la noche a la mañana, todo el que era joven se esforzaba por no aparentarlo: nadie quería ser víctima de los cazacuerpos. Después, creó los cuerpos artificiales: ya nadie tuvo que temer. Ahora, el Cirujano ha ido más allá.
Gilberto es un espía corporativo y su objetivo es robar el secreto del reenganche corporal y los cuerpos artificiales. Sin embargo, todo se desmorona cuando es descubierto por el mismísimo Cirujano. Para sorpresa de Gilberto, no lo entrega a las autoridades ni ordena su asesinato; en su lugar, sale huyendo. ¿Por qué?
La sorpresa da paso a la intriga; la intriga, a la sospecha. La persecución dura poco. Ahora el creador de la inmortalidad yace inmóvil sobre el asfalto. Sus últimas palabras son una súplica para que no lo recuerden como un monstruo que condenó a la humanidad.
El Cirujano es una novela corta distópica donde Gilberto es testigo (y responsable) del atropello mortal del creador de la inmortalidad. Pero, con su último suspiro, El Cirujano decide borrar los datos acerca de su codiciada tecnología. Ahora, Gilberto está contra las cuerdas: ha firmado un contrato con una poderosa farmacéutica rival y si no entrega el secreto de la inmortalidad sus días como espía industrial están contados. Eso si no acaba en un reciclador orgánico.
A través de calles repletas de tubotrenes y desempleados que acusan a las inteligencias artificiales de haberles arrebatado su trabajo Gilberto sigue las pistas, con la ayuda de una siniestra cazacuerpos, hasta descubrir que El Cirujano tiene un secreto aún más relevante que la clave para la vida eterna

RECOMENDABLE! De lector a lector: Si la recomiendo
Increíble novela, muy buena!
La leí en Kindle, eso fue decisivo para comprar y escuchar aquí en Audible, se lee bonito y fluido; en general muy disfrutable, el final es emocionante y te engancha hasta terminar. FELICIDADES AL AUTOR.
