The overall story

I loved all of it . The whole book . Every twist and turn. The joy the tears. It’s total completeness.

Wonderful banter. Touching friendships that escape the pages of the book and remind us what life is really about.

My favorite books are the one where I see myself as a participant in the story. I am not a skilled assassin or best fighter but could definitely spend time drinking with Hadrian and glaring at Royce. So comforting to be with them again.

Wonderful visit with our fictional friends riyera with colorful backgrounds info and lots of hints to the bigger story. Its a good stand alone as well. Makes me happy to have more of riyera!

Always worth it

If you know, you know. MJS is a master storyteller and TGR is a perfect narrator for his work. Well done again.

Thoroughly enjoyable

I don't know if this will be Sullivan's last Royce and Hadrian book or not but if it is, I've enjoyed all of them very much. I've re-listened to the entire Riyria Chronicles series several times and while I do have favorites, they are all very well done and extremely entertaining. The introductions by Michael and Robyn are informative and add to the overall experience. Definitely recommended. Listening to TGR perform Sullivan's books adds a dimension to the storytelling that is second to none. I will miss Royce and Hadrian if this is indeed their last story.

Probably the best revelation (after 2first as one)

I started my knowledge of Elan whith chronicles. I have always liked fantasy and it was better than expected. So when I discovered the Legends of empire and I think the Age of Death was (for me), a better version than Dante and "the other ones" (If remember right I know several others (paradise lost? etc).

i think I have atleast read it twice.

Anyway. This is so far the best revelation I read. I like books best when crossing 20hrs aswell. (when good.My opinion are that it is a major accomplishment if you manage to get a story interesting for 20hrs. )

so I am just halfway (I don't understand that someone manage to write a review after 4 chapters, I can't..)

I always wondered how Royce and Gwen managed to get it together. I tried to follow timeline, and it started to close up to a certain "deadline".

Michael claim he thinks to read his series in published order. I don't. I would read it in chronological order (Legends, Rise and Fall, revelations (so far it goes) then chronicles. )

Anyway, it is hard to compare the books and especially the series. This looks so far to be one of the best revelation book anyway. (and since I just manage to get through Rise and Fall and the 4 revelation books the day before I got this, I will continue with chronicles before do Legends again, while waiting for some other series I wait for next book in. (I wish George $&!?# Martin (GoT guy) and Orson something (Alvin Maker) had Michaels idea of how to make a series. I don't think these Series will ever be completed...

Fortunately Michael is someone that do his job like Royce would. Thoroughly!

Riyria on Vacation

If you love the relationship of Riyria (Royce and Hadrian), you’ll love Drumindor. Michael J Sullivan has yet again created another standalone book in the realm of Elan, which is of course riddled with Easter eggs that tie in all the other books and the larger, yet to be fully revealed picture.

Michael’s writing will make you laugh, cry, and might even frustrate you, but it’s always for the greater good in the end.

I’m excited to have another adventure with my favorite duo through the voice of Tim Gerard Reynolds, who has created so many of the voices I hear in my head.

Different Side Of Royce

This story was really fun because it had a completely new and different setting. It was sunny and warm not cold and muddy. Nice!

Royce also turned into a nicer character and I wonder how much more personable he will get now. I almost said human but since he’s an Elf that doesn’t work.

hadrian doesn't use his swords. it was a major let down. other than that, great story.
