Pyrotechnic expert Nox Lightfoot - Nickname "pretty boy", likes to light things on fire, thinks cats are okay, and would jump in front of a bus if it would bring bacon back

Fantastic!!

This new series by Leia Stone is fantastic! This is a unique twist on an alien invasion that had me ready to hear what happened next. There is a large group of characters but they are unique and detailed well so you are not confused on who the story is referring to. As for the narration, I have heard Vanessa Moyen in other books and liked her delivery. As for this book she delivered a great performance and I was so happy I decided to get it on audible!!

Beginning of a great series !

I enjoyed this book greatly . Kit is a very strong heroine in a very dangerous world . I love how strong every character in this book is ( even the children ). This book reminds me of a mmorpg with a apocalyptic twist . I can't wait to find out what happens next . Most of the time I hate cliff hangers but this one just shows how great of a author Leia Stone is !

Fast paced, fun, and attention grabbing

This book jumps off the block pretty quickly, spinning into a fast paced story action packed energy. It’s been 10 years since the invasion, and people are being killed in their dreams, food for the alien invaders (sentries and ghouls). Kit and her motley team of badasses are one of the best teams of protectors in the world, who work to keep people safe by traveling into the dream world with them and protecting them. Enter their latest client, Damien, super hot billionaire with the super brainy, autistic brother who may have invented the thing that will protect people from the aliens and end the dream wars. This is definitely an interesting spin on the idea of lucid dreaming, making things much more real and scarier. Stay awake for days, because going into the dream world is dangerous, and terrifying. The characters each have their unique quirkiness, and their play off each other is a mixture of hardcore teamwork, and a familial level of affection (or maybe not so familial in some cases). I found the action scenes to be engrossing and tense, with enough detail to create an impressive visual in my mind. The world building was woven into the story well, building up both the characters and the world they live in at a good pace so you can keep up with what’s happening pretty well. It’s a short, quick, fun read. And that cliffhanger ending! Definitely makes me interesting in continuing the journey.

Ok so I’m kind of biased because I love Leia and her books but I’m not a huge fan of aliens and it starts out kind of slow but it get better. I recommend getting this audio book.

Loved this book so much!

This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I truly could not put it down. I really enjoyed the concept of the aliens who take over your dreams, making sleep a dangerous and limited commodity for those fit or wealthy enough to protect themselves. The writing was so enjoyable and the narrator truly brought the story to life. I am itching for book two!! I 100% recommend it!!

Loved it! Intense, fast paced!!

If you love sci fi or even a hint of it I truly believe that you will enjoy this series. The author did a fabulous job adding a bit of mystery to this book. It grabs you and pulls you in further! It’s so intense, fast paced, and packed with action.
The narrator was great except with a few voices she would sound a bit nasally sometimes but not enough to take away from the narration. I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to listening to book 2.

Kittie ain't scared of no ghoul.

I read this book back in 2018 before the series was complete. I just recently listened to the audiobook. Vanessa Moyen is my babe. I love all of the books she narrates. She really enhances the story.

So the book... Of course its amazing I mean Leia Stone wrote it. But I digress

So the main character Kit. I love her. She is badass, strong, and so caring for others. I love the story it is very original. An alien race comes to earth but you only encounter them when you are sleeping. Crazy. And really cool on how their world rests just on top of earth. they are connected. I like adding in the maturity part of it. That kids are not targeted by the ghouls. But really sad that so many lose their parents to these beings.

Oh Damien. Swoon. I liked him right off the bat. In charge but willing to let a woman lead. Then washing the dishes after the butler cooked. Amazing!!

So cool that an autistic adult was able to solve the earths problem. But of course the government has to step in when earnings are threatened. Ugh. All I am saying is that I am so excited to be able to finish the series this time!!!

original and entertaining

Wow! This story with it's new, original idea sucked me right in. I will definitely be continuing with this series.

Phenomenal!

The story and the narrator had me hooked from the beginning. I can't wait to download the next book to listen/read.
