But the arson that destroys a house on Fuller Street doesn't fit the pattern. This beautiful property belongs to Margaret Reston and her husband, Hank; and the sick old man who dies when it burns is Margaret's father. Margaret herself has disappeared. She was last seen working in her garden five months ago - and although traces of her blood were found in her car, the police have no idea what has happened to the missing woman.

This intrigue all makes good copy for hard-hitting newshound Molly. Almost in love again with the high-school sweetheart who dumped her and is now a rabbi, Molly can't stop thinking about Margaret and Hank Reston and the old man whose life was tragically, though accidentally, cut short. But was it an accident? What has happened to Margaret Reston? Where does malice end and evil begin?

A great series

I finished a great series then nothing I started help my interest until the first Molly Blume book ‘Blues in the Night’ I liked it so much I bought the rest of the series. This second book is even better. I’d have to write a book to tell you what all it offers. Mystery, comedy, a little Yiddish, a little of Jewish customs, romance, family, etc. I wish there were 100 in the series. Thank you Rochelle Krich, for fabulous entertainment.

Appreciate Jewish Traditions

I am ignorant of kosher and Sabot traditions so explanations were good. Author must be writing from close if not practiced beliefs. Since our heroine is a reporter all meshes very well.
Good entertainment by a narrator l love. However, if not for the narrator, l would not seek this author out. Personal preference. These are feel good mysteries and should be in the cozy mystery genre
