Acerca de esta escucha

In Hollywood movies, dreams come true and hearts are shattered in just a few takes, but in real life, there is only one take, and no editing allowed.

The Dragonfly sees all as it follows the lives of three best friends living in Los Angeles. Even though their lives are glamorous at times, each woman is on an individual journey to find self love, professional success and, most of all, to evolve Spiritually. However, they realize that life can be more challenging than they expected.

For Leanora, a Hollywood publicist who rubs shoulders with the rich and famous, outwardly it appears that she has it all, but deep inside, she is as lonely as a $2 bill. Desperate for love, she does the unimaginable and her conscience is getting the best of her.

Behind the façade of a picture-perfect marriage, Tiffany hides an abusive relationship and a dirty secret to cope with it.

Christina, a cash-strapped artist, has burned some bridges by constantly borrowing money from her friends, as a result she resorts to a different kind of rubbing.

Yet, like how dirty laundry eventually must be washed, everyone is forced to come clean. The women are at a crossroads and must make a decision to trust their Dragonfly or continue living aimlessly in La La Land.

Heartfelt Narratives Woven with Intrigue

"Dragonflies in Hollywood" offers a sincere portrayal of personal development against the backdrop of Hollywood allure. Sherrima Queen introduces us to Leanora, Tiffany, and Christina, three women whose lives are far from the idyllic images often portrayed in media. The audiobook's strength lies in highlighting the characters' inner conflicts and spiritual journeys. The symbolism of the dragonfly enriches the narrative, providing thematic consistency throughout the story. While certain plot points might be predictable, the depth of character exploration compensates, keeping listeners invested. Melissa Connell’s performance enhances the novel’s emotional resonance, making this audiobook a reflective listen on the realities beneath Hollywood’s surface.

An Adventurous Journey for Women Finding and Reclaiming Themselves

Dragonflies in Hollywood is an amazing story about chasing dreams and finding yourself after mistakes. My favorite character, Tiffany, feels so real it’s easy to root for her, flaws and all. Her journey of growth is inspiring and relatable. The author brings all the characters to life, showing their good and bad sides in a way that feels honest and human.

The story pulled me in at times, and certain parts really stood out. It’s a good read, especially for women in their 20s and 30s. I’d recommend it—4 out of 5 stars!
