Ten years after Alex and Aaron Stowe brought peace to Quill and Artimé, their younger twin sisters journey beyond the islands in this first novel of a new sequel series to The Unwanteds, which Kirkus Reviews called "The Hunger Games meets Harry Potter".
Identical twins Fifer and Thisbe Stowe have amazing yet uncontrollable magical abilities. They're naturally more gifted than even their brother, Alex, the head mage of Artimé, could hope to be. But when they accidentally use their magic in the jungle of Artimé to strike down a beloved creature, Alex is furious and threatens to lock them away until they can learn to control their power.
The threat is soon forgotten, though, when Hux, the ice blue dragon, comes to Artimé bearing the horrible news that his siblings have been enslaved by the notoriously evil Revinir, ruler of the dragon land.
Seeking a chance to right their wrong and escape their brother's wrath, Thisbe, Fifer, and their friend Seth sneak away to rescue the dragons from grave peril. Will their untrained abilities be enough to save the dragons - and themselves - when they come face-to-face with the Revinir?

New Narrator!
Why is it that the audio reader changed, all the new characters had an Indian accent, simber has a country accent, and the reading of Alex makes me not like him. Steve West was a fantastic narrator, and if possible I would love to have him back. The new reader is fine, but is is horrible to continue the story with a new voice. I think I would rather read the hard copy. I did however like the voices of the girls because they were new to me. For that reason I gave 3 stars performance, but the story was amazing so I gave 5 for that. I would suggest this book if you are new to the Unwanted's and don't want to start on the first book.

Great Story / Whelming Narration
The world Lisa McMann has created us beautiful and captivating. I hope she writes 50 more books about the people of Artime and their adventures.
Fiona Hardingham’s narration is wonderful at parts and head scratching in others. Her voices for the twins are fantastic, but I can’t figure out why Simba has a Texas accent, it’s disturbingly out of place.

Amazing!!
Another story from Lisa McMann that captures your mind and sucks you into the world of Artime! My 4th grade son and I LOVED it! A must read!

Not consistent narration
After having listened to previous books in series, it difficult to have the voices of the characters be so drastically different in this book. I.e. Simba's voice changes from a gruff growly voice in the previous to a slow southern drawl here... Very disconcerting. Story still good...

Simba Voice
It's really too bad that Steve West was unable to do narration for this book as he had done in previous 7 books because he did a flawless job. Fiona Hardingham should have listened more to previous books. She really messed up Simba's voice and so many of the other voices were nit distinctive enough ti always know who was speaking. I hope future books have Steve West and if he's not available perhaps look for someone else.

Poor narrator
Book is great, love this series but the narrator was hard to get past. Especially her voice of simba.

It is a very exciting book and great to listen to as a easy read best book I have listened to in a while
It was a amazing book and a great story but I would suggest to read The Unwanted Series first

A wonderful book but a bad Simba voice
I loved the book but I had a hard time getting past the voice for Simba it made him sound like a over acting cowboy in stand of a giant fierce Cheetah statue with wings

Performance in first series was better
I enjoyed the story but was put off by the glitches in the recording. It would jump and skip occasionally.
When the previous recordings of the past series created voices for the characters it’s distracting when a new narrator decides to put their own accents on already established characters. I’m not sure Simba was from Alabama…
