Absolutely loved the narration and the story was really good I love the chemistry between the two characters

I almost Shattered my phone!!

I love love and love at first sight is the best. Olivier knew immediately that he loved Sadie. He knew immediately that he had to have her.
I didn't love how he could not see the forest for the trees. I don't like how he let himself be blackmailed over stupidity. I thought that by the end of the book he would come to his senses. I was so upset I wanted to throw my phone across the room! (I'm listening on my phone). Olivier made me so upset giving away his legacy like that!! Then he left his sister. I can not!!! So clearly any book that could evoke that much emotion is worth the read. Maybe Seraphine saves the company? I'm not sure I want to put myself through the emotion of reading the next book. I may not have a phone left. I wonder if the oldest brother was blackmailed too? What if all of the shares were actually left to Renault? Hmmm🤔 I have so may questions. I may have to bite the bullet.

Nice start to a Series

But, not great enough to want to continue.

Loved the premise, loved the narration, but would have preferred some consequences for the villains.

I guess that may happen in next books, but although Blaise may have some redeeming qualities for Book 2, every other character was just to vile for me to care.

bonus points for the accent

Story is interesting but very slow. I felt like I was missing something during this book, like the reason for the beginning of the family feud with the dad and uncle because I feel like the author hinted at something towards the end but didn't really go there. Story is steamy but not really romantic. I felt like the female character was treated more like a dirty secret for most of the book because of all the cloak and dagger.

I loved both narrators!

I was hooked from the very beginning of this beautiful, romantic story. Sadie is backpacking across Europe with her boyfriend when an unexpected breakup occurs. She is a strong, brave female that continues on her adventure alone. A series of unfortunate events for Olivier leads him into Sadie’s path at just the right time. Olivier and Sadie had an attraction that was instant and their love story flowed with ease. The romance of Sadie and Olivier, the side characters you love and hate, and the air of mystery untwined into the story makes it hard to stop reading. I loved the happily ever after.
This is my first from both narrators and I loved them. They switched character dialogue with ease and always held my attention. I loved John Lane’s French accent and I didn’t cringe when he spoke with a feminine voice. Summer Morton portrayed Sadie perfectly.

John Lane’s voice is sexy butter

Well 🙊 Karina Halle knocked it out of the park with this story. I absolutely loved EVERY 👏🏼SINGLE👏🏼THING👏🏼 about this story.

First. I read this story via audiobook. I have never listened to narrator John Lane before and his voice is like sexy butter. Just this smooth, beautiful sounds coming out of my earbuds that I never wanted to stop. Sweet lawd. I could have him read me the obituaries and I’d be sweating.

Olivier was this rich, powerful man that had everything to look forward to and was never above anyone. However, being apart of the powerhouse that is the Dumont family game and fortune there are many things that are lost on him. That is until he meets American tourist Sadie and rescues her from an awful situation. Together they bring out the absolute best in each other. I loved that this couple never turned on the other or had this horrible situation that drew them apart and they had to find their way back to each other. From day one, both are unwavering in their faithfulness in the other. It’s immediately this fantastically strong relationship that must fight thru and prove to everyone around them they cannot be broken.

That accent! 🔥🔥🔥

Wow! I'm going to start off with the narration because it was amazing! I have heard both narrators before and while I always enjoy their narration they both left me completely stunned. They both are able to switch between characters so effortlessly and they both nailed the accent. It really brought the characters to life.

As for the story I was immediately drawn in by the mysterious Olivier. He was not at all what I expected and everything I never knew I wanted. He may not be perfect but as you get to know him you understand what motivates him. Sadie was a sweet girl who was swept away by the charming billionaire. The next book is about Olivier'd sister and continues the ongoing family drama/mystery that slowly unravels in this book.

Discretion

A chance encounter that turns into a whirlwind romance. This was not what I was expecting but once we got to know Olivier and his dysfunctional family we realize he has some skeletons in the closet and there are reasons for everything.

That French Accent

I loved this book so much! I need the next one now! Both of the narrators were amazing! Karina was amazing yet again!

Fire on fire

This book was incredible in the physical read through, but the audiobook is a whole extra level. The narration, particularly of Olivier, is absolutely delightful. HIGHLY recommend.
