Diesmal geht es um die Erfindung der Presse, um das Thema: Die Wahrheit und nichts als die Wahrheit und die Schwierigkeiten, die man als Zeitungsmacher mit Wahrheitsfindung und -vermittlung haben kann.
Terry Pratchett hat wieder eine Reihe skurriler Charaktere geschaffen, die sich unter anderem mit der Frage herumschlagen müssen, was denn nun wirklich wichtig und interessant ist für den zeitunglesenden Menschen. Die Aufdeckung eines politischen Komplotts oder Bilder von Gartengemüse mit besonderer Ähnlichkeit zu gewissen Regionen des menschlichen Unterleibs? Die Scheibenwelt in den Zeiten von Big Brother: höchst amüsant!
Der Sprecher: Dirk Bach wurde 1961 in Köln geboren und hatte schon früh den Wunsch, Schauspieler zu werden. Mit 17 Jahren fand er im "Jugendclub Kritisches Theater" am Kölner Schauspielhaus seine erste Rolle. Eine Schauspielschule besuchte er nie - mit "learning by doing" entwickelte er sich in freien Gruppen weiter und trat in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Brüssel, Wien, London und New York auf. 1992 hatte Dirk Bach es endgültig geschafft; er erspielte sich im Ensemble des Kölner Schauspielhaus einen Platz mit fester Gage und Jahresvertrag und erhielt im selben Jahr bei RTL die eigene "Dirk-Bach"-Show. Im März 1995 wechselte er für die Comedyreihe "Lukas" zum ZDF. Zur Zeit dreht er seine neue ZDF-Serie: Der kleine Mönch.
