Detlef Bierstedt gelingt es ausgezeichnet, dich ins England des 16. Jahrhunderts mitzunehmen. Stimmungsvoll gibt er die einzelnen Personen wieder und hält den Spannungsbogen die ganze Zeit über bis zum Ende hin hoch.

What happened to “Bloody Mary”?
I am a bit disturbed about how Mary is portrayed in this story. Did her cruel personality traits get hidden until she was crowned? Waringham did not foresee what she would turn into? Not very believable.
Detlef Bierstedt deserves 4.5 stars (.5 deduction for high pitch voices, a bit overdone)
The music was nice in the previous book of this series. This was getting pretty annoying again, depending on the instrumentation plus too long and too loud.
The story and characters were not as captivating as in the previous books. Their behavior often not quite conclusive.

Excellent story and narration, but weird production
There is way, way too music, which doesn’t make sense in any way. Constant interruptions of music tracks in an otherwise excellent production -why?
