Aus irgendeinem Grund glaubt er, dass du ein wahrer Meister deiner Blutlinie werden kannst, wenn du nur lernst, Dämonen zu töten und dich einer Reihe von gefährlichen Prüfungen unterziehst.

Der Erbe einer altehrwürdigen Blutlinie ist das erste Buch der Lebendes Eis-Saga. Es entführt uns in eine karge und unwirtliche Parallelwelt, in der die Menschheit wie durch ein Wunder nach einer Dämoneninvasion überlebt hat. In jenen alten Zeiten übernahmen die Magier eine zentrale Rolle beim Schutz der menschlichen Ethnie und gründeten die aristokratischen Familien, die als Wächter der Welt fungierten.
In einer solchen Familie wurde Ivan geboren, ein Junge, der seine magische Energie nicht kontrollieren konnte. Dieser Makel kostete ihn das Leben, und nur das bereitwillige Opfer eines alten Magiers ist in der Lage, die Seele in seinen Körper zurückzubringen, bevor dieser erkaltet. Die Sache hat nur einen kleinen Haken - es ist nicht seine Seele. Genau genommen ist es gar nicht die Seele eines Jungen.
