Fun to hear one I'd read...

I read this book when it was first published. It was a great read and it was an even better listen. John MacDonald did a nice job. Some of his voices ran together somewhat. As far as Clancy...I wanna be him when I grow up! I love his stuff. The man can tell a story and make every detail...And there are a LOT of details...Fun to roll around in.

Horrible narrator

I have listened to a lot of books from Audible. This is by far the worst narration I have ever heard. I have read this book before I listened to it and knew the story was slow to develop, but John MacDonald had me begging for the book to end.

Performance not so good

I am a big fan of the Jack Ryan series, so I managed to finish listening to this book. Otherwise, I’d have given up 5 minutes in. This narrator is robotic. Nothing like the performances of Scott Brick. To me, it often sounded like an actual computer narration. I had to repeat several sections as the narration made it difficult to maintain my attention at times. The story absolutely held it’s own within the series, but PLEASE get a new narrator.

Only issue is the narrator, some accents were terrible and some paragraph changes were very hard to notice

Well written and very detailed; sometimes the detail interferes with flowbut overall a good read.

Where does Debt of Honor rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book is near the top of the Audible books, John MacDonald does a great job of distinguishing the characters with very different accents, voice inflections and style of read. The story, is of course, great. I am a big Clancy fan, have been for years.

Who was your favorite character and why?

John Clark is as always my favorite character.

Which scene was your favorite?

There are so many, but probably when Clark and Ding are meeting with the local Russian counterpart for the first time.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

An old enemy, now an ally. An old ally, now an enemy.

The Debt has yet to be paid

This is a great audiobook, and it, was great segueing into a new chapter and continuing series of techo-thriller.

Some of the best books

Like all books by Clancy, the story and pacing is great, sadly the narrator of Debt of Honor has very little emotion, and drags on and on. it's still worth picking up and about 2/3 the way threw he seems to pick up and find a little more life but it was hard to get into McDonal's performance

One Clancy's best

I felt the narator wasn't ideal for this novel, there also many editing errors. Despit these flaws, this is an amazing story and well worth listening to.
