I want this battery

Great listen, fun and fast and I believe he’s holding out on us the battery is real

Exciting read

I’ve listened to over 1000 books now and this one is one of my top books, if you like excitement adventure, excellent narration, then this book is for you. I can’t wait till the author Mr. O’donnell creates the next adventure.

No one pays attention to certain folks, like a limo driver for example. Secrets and private conversations are shared in their presence without any concern. However, when they become embroiled in a murder mystery and their life is in danger … they prefer you to keep such conversations to yourself!

The author, Pete O’Donnell is a first-time author of a bold, action-packed thriller surrounding Silicon Valley, Patents, and a variety of governmental and highly suspect individuals. O’Donnell carefully develops the limo driver’s character by showing it through action and behavior rather than description only. The listener is given a first-hand glimpse into the main character through serious and deadly danger and some light moments. I chuckled at the skunk incident! His detailed and masterful storytelling made it almost possible for me to smell the odor with each passing moment. One is given incredible insight into the lives of people such as the limo driver – innocent and hard-working. Simply by doing their job, they are exposed to incredible and deadly secrets. The plot twists were well-planned and flowed logically with the storyline.

The narrator, Scott Brick, delivers a phenomenal performance. His delivery is deliberate with intentional pauses and moments of emotion but always preserving the nature of the limo driver. While it would be all too easy to rush or throw in too much enthusiasm, Brick does not. He speaks clearly and with authoritative conciseness that enriches the dialogue and storyline. He captures and projects the appropriate amount of mystery, strength, and exhilaration. Scott enables the listener to experience the story easily. I look forward to hearing more performances by Scott Brick!

I found myself completely ensnared in this storyline! I highly recommend this extremely exciting and danger-packed thriller!

Really Great!

Smart, edgy, funny! Loved the characters. I didn't want to turn it off or for it to end. I hope he has many more adventures with Gwenny and the gang. This was really well written and Scott Brick did a wonderful job with the narration.

Death in the Diamond Lane is a brilliant and fresh debut thriller novel by Pete O’Donnell, a former Palo Alto limo driver who hopefully will become a successful writer. I won’t spoil the plot for you, but I can assure you that this is a very promising audio production that will keep you thrilled, entertained, amused and hooked until the very end.

Mr. O’Donnell draws on his own experience as a limo driver to craft a captivating story with engaging characters, a fast-paced plot and vividly described locations. The story revolves around the seemingly ordinary life of a limo driver who transports different clients around the state, but when some of them try to harm him, he realizes that he may have some crucial information that could cost him his life. This is one of those audiobooks that will make you smile as you listen.

The audiobook version of Death in the Diamond Lane is flawlessly performed by the multi-award-winning narrator, actor and voice artist, Scott Brick. In case you lived under a rock and for some reason you are not familiar with Scott, he is the man, the myth, the legend who has narrated over 1,000 audiobooks in his distinguished career and won probably all possible awards in the Audiobooks Industry.

As always, his narration elevates the narrative experience to new levels of immersion and enjoyment. Those who follow my reviews know that Scott is one of my favorite narrators in the industry and I am always delighted to listen to him as he brings more unique stories to life.

I highly recommend Death in the Diamond Lane to everyone who loves a good thriller with a twist of mystery and a dash of humor. Fans of Nelson DeMille in particular should definitely pay attention to this new author as I am sure we will see more of him in the future.

Although this is the first novel by Mr. O’Donnell, I hope he will continue to write because he is a true storyteller. I am always happy when I discover a new author and this time my joy was doubled, as Scott brought this amazing story to life.
