Takes me back to high school!

This was such a great read/listen! I love how the author made me feel like I was in high school again. It was so easy for me to imagine myself as Emma and bring back all the feelings I had in high school. Not only is the nostalgia real, but I know these feelings are relevant to this day as well. Rebecca is a great and relatable writer, and I can’t wait for her next book in the series! Highly recommend for mothers and young girls!

Takes you right back to those pivotal teenage years!

You know that sound bite that’s like “oh how I love being a woman” and it’s just women going through the adventure of life at golden hour with their girlfriends? That’s how Rebecca Garner’s writing feels.

I was a fan of the first book in this series and I had the opportunity to listen to Dear Boyfriend and Other High School Dilemmas. I loved it. I swear, every time I read or listen to Emma’s adventures, I laugh and fall in love and die of second hand embarrassment.

For the second time, Garner has perfectly encapsulated what it feels like to be a teenager experiencing the full gamut of human emotion at its highest levels, often for the very first time.

It took me right back to my teenage self, ruminating on whether my MMC should be blonde, blue eyed and fully smitten, or dark hair, brown eyed, and fully brooding. It’s a choice every girly has make and taking that journey with Emma was hilarious and so relatable! That cliffhanger at the end almost killed me but just makes me that much more excited for the third installment.

What an awesome sophomore novel! All the stars for this one!!

Brings you right back!

It brought me right back to high school all the butterflies and then the ick. Endless time with your besties and the simplicity of life! Can’t wait for Emma number 3!

Oh my heart. This book transported me back to being 14 again. Rebecca perfectly captured those teenage feelings and navigating friendships and first romantic relationships. I wish I’d had this series when I was 14.

There is a certain scene with a boy from bio that just reminded so much of my first boyfriend and the unpleasantness of having someone come on so strong, but you feel like you should go along with it.

Everyone remembers their first heartbreak but Rebecca perfectly captures that occasion of the first time you break someone else’s heart. Of navigating the push and pull of trying to do the right things, but not wanting to hurt someone.

Not only did this book speak to my inner 14 year old, but as a mom now, it hit me in entirely different ways and made me emotional.

Wholesome, sweet, angsty - Dear Boyfriend tells the story of navigating friendships, romantic relationship, and familial dynamics.

Krissy Barnes did such a great job as the narrator - perfectly voicing Emma and bringing her character to life. Great production quality too.
