I don’t know the background for these authors but I can’t thank you enough for your awesomely DIVERSE cast. I’ve broken up with so many authors whose series I loved but whose cast of characters didn’t represent me even remotely. Often ENTIRE series! 🙄

Poly seems to be a lot more common in this sector than even in sector 4, but I hope it’s FFM this time. Y’all haven’t written any of those yet, and it’s a lot less common than the reverse. 🙏🏾

Loving this series!!

I absolutely love how the characters come alive. Liked the narrator. I definitely think this is a great follow up to Ashwin. I loved Deacons story and loved when it got intense!

I need a story on all the riders. Great story. Strong characters and interesting places.

The apology tour

This was a very talky book. Deacon confesses his terrible backstory and then has to work it out with each member of the team, usually by talking it out. Then there’s all the talk about Riders always being prepared to make the sacrifice.

There’s Ana’s inner monologue, which was also very talky. She’s forever putting pressure on herself to represent all womankind as the first female Rider.

Between the talking and the interlude chapters setting up the next couple’s book, there wasn’t a lot of time spent building up the chemistry between Deacon and Ana. I feel like the supervisor-subordinate taboo romance could have been more fiery. Instead, even that was talky, with him needing to give her a pep talk on knowing her worth as one of Gideon’s Riders, and not worrying about what the other Riders would think about them.

The plot involving the Suicide Kings was a little more developed compared to the previous book, with a bad guy who actually has lines and an arc. I just wished the romance had some of the spice of the original Beyond series.
