The recent Covid crisis has to a great extent forced the world, and us, to face something we tend to not want to face, death. The Covid pandemic (regardless about your political leanings toward it and regardless of the accuracy of the fatality figures), with its suffocating effects, has forced us to consider death. As we hear about people dying, know people who have died, and consider our own mortality and potential death (if we have tested positive), the sting of death has touched us. There is good news for us to receive. Resurrection as taught in the Bible and as it is a part of the gospel of Jesus Christ, pulls the dark veil of death aside and shines the light of God into it. That’s what we are going to be doing, we are going to be shinning God’s light into the darkness of death. The objective of this book is to hopefully remove any fear we might have about death and actually come to a point where hope of eternal life replaces the despair of death. Do you fear death? Have the circumstances of the recent year shaken you; exposed a fear or darkness in you about death that you didn’t realize you had? Have you been at a loss for words when someone asks you about death? Death is just as much a part of life as life is itself. We will all die. “And it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). Are you ready to die? Does death overwhelm you?
