Acerca de esta escucha

Halted in advancing his legacy, Leland wants nothing more than to sit down and figure things out.

Unfortunately for him, fate had other plans. Together with his two best friends, the journey continues and many more questions are raised.

Just who is the Lord of Curses and why do some cower at her title of The Calamity?

Why is the Huntress still following them?

Why do animals like Jude so much? Is it the harmonica playing?

And of course, the age-old question of who would win, the bear or the poacher?

Come along with Leland, Jude, and Glenny as they find answers to all of these questions and more all the while growing in strength and renown.

Good but...

Not the worst I've listened to in the genre. Just a little clunky stylistically. The author needs to be more mindful of the anachronisms. They're really jarring and snap me right out of the story.

Otherwise it's fun and light.

Not what I hoped for(minor spoilers)

I had high hopes for this story, but to be frank, it was a painful listen. Basically the entire middle half of the book had me constantly cringing and rolling my eyes at just how cheesy it was. One character in particular really irked me: Jello. She’s constantly crying, especially near the end of her arc. I say arc, but she was a major character for like 6+hours of the book. The author also has a terrible habit of summarizing conversations very briefly. Like “they bonded over their lack of paternal figures” or something along those lines. The author also overuses “The boys” as a way to refer to the group as one entity all doing the exact same action. Like are they three distinct people or are they conjoined in some strange amalgamation? There was a severe lack of detail in places all throughout the story really. It’s a shame. I was looking forward to this series, but I just can’t take it seriously. I mean really, why are sentient, intelligent, super powerful(or potential to be powerful) bear monsters named Jello and Flow? They’re named like they are pets. I think they should have had more fantasy themed names. Something like Astara or Ayasha or Nymeria. Something mystical. Not a food that I’m not even sure exists in this hypothetical world.

That’s my TED talk. I know this author hasn’t written much, so maybe my criticism is quite harsh, but there’s plenty of room to improve.
