The light aim to kill her. To kill Nari, means to kill Daxeel. Take out the evate, take out the male.
The dark mean to maim her. Capture her. Then drag her to the summit--where she will be sacrificed.... by Daxeel.
This was his plan all along.
Keep her close, save her just to sacrifice her to Mother, the god of all gods, and exchange her for the Cursed Shadows. With those shadows, the human realm belongs to the dark ones.
Nari is no warrior. She is no soldier.
She is just a halfling from a village.
Nari is no hero. She is no one's sacrifice.
Her strategy on the mountain is simple: hide and survive.
A goal that seems more impossible every brutal day on this mountain.
