Acerca de esta escucha

Avery: Working in the lodge’s kitchen, my job is to keep the food coming and make the guests happy. Every morning, when the older, rugged ranger comes in for breakfast, I can’t stop my heart from racing. David is completely off-limits—he’s my boss’s brother, and one wrong move could ruin everything. The way his eyes linger on me, like he’s imagining all the things he wants to do…it makes me wonder if taking the risk might be worth it.

David: I don’t come for the pancakes—I come here for her. The innocent woman whose sweet smile tempts me knows just how to get under my skin. She thinks I don’t notice her sneaking glances, but I’ve seen enough to know she wants me too. I’ve waited long enough. I’ll have her beneath me soon—it’s only a matter of time.

Great story

Julia Stone wrote a great short story of Mountain men and their hotness. The story is entertaining and sexual. Avery is a cook who snags the attention of David. Will they work out or will this be filling. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Consumed by the Mountain Man... David and Avery!

This was my first time reading Julia Stone's work, though it won't be my last! Her writing style is genuine and flows, holding your interest and investing in the outcome. David and Avery are a sweet couple who are both attracted to each other and are likable. Give this book a try; I think you will love it as much as I did!
I read the book and then listened to the audiobook. The narrator's voice took a bit to get used to, though I did get used to it and enjoyed the audiobook during one of my work commutes.

Good Quick Listen but…

The story is a good quick listen this is a single narrator. He does it like it is a duet. What does bring down the story is that the male part sounds like an old man that needs to clear his throat. The female part actually sounds like a man trying to sound like a woman. It does not sound like he is trying at all. I have listened to many audiobooks that have male narrators that do female parts they usually have a feminine cadence to their voice. He just sounds like he’s whispering out of breath.

Avery and David

The first book in the Willowbrook Ridge Lodge, by a new Author to me. Avery and David's short story is well written and held my interest. I want to read more in this series. I enjoyed listening to Dan Levy narrate their story.

Discover Love in the Mountains!

Story: Avery (h) never expected her quiet life at Shady Pines Lodge to turn upside down over one unforgettable mountain man, ranger David (H). While her crush on the lodge owner's imposing brother seemed harmless enough, things heat up quickly when David makes it clear he’s interested in Avery, too. As they navigate the challenges of dating under the sharp eye of his no-nonsense sister, David and Avery find themselves diving into a connection deeper than either anticipated. Hot and steamy instalove, age gap, mountain man romance, exploring love, connection, and belonging.

Audio: Narrator Dan Levy does a good job with David, though the growly/slowness was right on the edge of being too slow for my preference. He did a fine job with Avery's voice - I personally prefer a duet style (though I get this is a short work) and he just didn't click for me as Avery. The audio quality is good and there were no issues.

Consumer by the Mountain Man

Avery is in her early 20s and left the city to go to a small town to find peace. She has a job working in the lodge. She's putting the food out for the buffet and keeping an eye on the owners brother. She has a crush on him but if scared of approaching him because his sister is scary.
David eats at the diner because of Avery. He wants to ask her out. When he goes to ask her out she zips away. He finally asks her and they go out for burgers. She finally tells him how she's afraid his sister will fire her if she finds out they went out.
What is going to do? He'd decided she's his.
Dan Levy is an excellent narrator and brings the characters to life.

A Steamy Story but the Narration Mixed Me Up

With the narrator of this audiobook, I honestly spent most of the first part thinking this was an MM romance—until it switched perspectives. I really liked the narrator, though, and it’s totally not his fault. In both our defense, Avery is a gender-neutral name!

Once I got over the surprise that it wasn’t an MM story, I have to say this is the best one in the series I’ve listened to so far. The plot—well, I’m not sure I can even call it a plot—but the steamy scenes? Let’s just say there’s one in the woods against a tree, and that’s definitely a win.

This keeps the intent while softening the phrasing just enough to avoid any issues!
