St. Louis-Marie de Montfort wrote…

“Predestinate soul, here is a secret the Most High has taught me, which I have not been able to find in any book, old or new. I confide it to you, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit” (“The Secret of Mary”, #1).

This book – which is for beginners and the more advanced – spells out the whats, whys, and hows of this secret, so you can easily take the same road to Jesus that He took to come to us.

Again, this is the opportunity of a lifetime, because St. Louis-Marie emphasizes that God didn’t reveal this secret to most of His Saints.

He wrote…

“There have been some Saints, but they have been in small numbers, who have passed by this sweet path to go to Jesus, because the Holy Ghost, faithful Spouse of Mary, has by a singular grace disclosed it to them.

“But the rest of the Saints, who are the greater number, although they have all had devotion to our Blessed Lady, have not on that account, or at least very little, entered upon this way. This is why they have had to pass through harder and more dangerous trials” (“True Devotion to Mary”, #152).

On the other hand, he calls this devotion which God revealed to him “a path of roses and honey compared with the other paths” (True Devotion, #152).

Imagine how good you’re going to feel when you’re on this “path of roses and honey” instead of the path of “harder and more dangerous trials.”

He also reminds you that this devotion “…is a path trodden by Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, our sole Head. One of His members in passing by the same road cannot deceive himself” (True Devotion, #168).

And he said a little earlier…

“This practice of devotion to our Blessed Lady is also a perfect path by which to go and unite ourselves to Jesus, because the divine Mary is the most perfect and the most holy of creatures, and because Jesus, Who has come to us most perfectly, took no other road for His great and admirable journey” (True Devotion, #157).

Now, obviously, it’s God who decides who gets to know this devotion to Mary and who doesn’t. And so, you’re probably wondering why God would choose to give you access to a devotion to Mary that He didn’t give to most of His Saints?

St. Louis-Marie says that’s because…

“God wishes that His holy Mother should be at present more known, more loved, more honored than she has ever been” (True Devotion, #55).

And we also have to remember that God tells us…

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts: nor your ways My ways, saith the Lord” (Is. 55:8).

Think about that…

God’s love for you is so great that He’s giving you an opportunity to take advantage of a Marian devotion, which He chose not to reveal to most of His Saints.

Can you see what a privilege that is? It’s like when Jesus said to His disciples…

“But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear. For, amen, I say to you, many prophets and just men have desired to see the things that you see, and have not seen them, and to hear the things that you hear and have not heard them” (Mt. 13:16-17).

Same type of deal.
