Fantastic read.

This was a wonderful book. I appreciated the writing style and the honesty of the story. The reader was slightly dull sounding but I got used to it after - couple of chapters.

Amazing in detail. so many suprises around the corners. A documentary on growing up in the 80's. what were we thinking???

Alisyn's tumultuous memoir of trials and tribulations that welcome or not strengthened her to achieve her childhood goal of making something great out of her life. All the bases are covered of a single child and single mother issues: Relationships, moving around to much, sex, drugs, rock n roll, sacrifice and trying to save others along the way. Transparency

Allison was one of my favorite news host on CNN. I thought this memoir was amazing with honesty and realness. It was truly inspirational and it brought out why so many people related and rooted for her on television. No matter what era she was in, she always cared about people. Which is a rare in today’s society. I am truly grateful I had a chance to read it. And much success to her career. Truly am a fan of your work. I also thought how dope it was that she always showed loved to the local band. That was awesome. Much success fam.

Brave Authenticity

I was drawn to this book for a number of reasons. I grew up in the 70s and 80s and just like Alisyn, during the time of under parenting and lack of supervision. Not to mention I too was one of the only kids with divorced parents. This can be a recipe for disaster. I experienced similar situations and ironically went on the a career as a television journalist, the only thing I ever wanted to do. I loved Alysin’s ability to tell the authentic truth, as painful and sometimes shameful as it could have been, she didn’t shy away. As public figures, people think your life was always sunshine and rainbows. Or in Alysin’s case - dark, music filled nightclubs and sometimes rainbow colored pill parties. I applaud her pulling back the curtain. It was cathartic for me…and helped me realize, my parents did the best they could in uncharted waters. Bravo Alysin.

Alisyn Camerota is smart, but most of all authentic, funny & brave. I loved everything about this book & highly recommend it.

Amazing book

Loved every word of this book. Started watching Alisyn when she and Victor Blackwell had a segment on CNN, I thought they were great. Can’t wait to watch this book in a movie as i heard it’s in the plans. You are blessed, Alisyn.
