Detective Josie Quinn

Plot. The Detective Josie Quinn series consists of several police procedurals, most involving missing or murdered women or girls. The setting is a small town in Pennsylvania. Josie's childhood trauma is interwoven into each story; we watch her character struggle with her job, love life, and the brain-twisting murders traversing the series.

Liked, Characters. Stories are initially straightforward who-done-it murders that morph into complex mysteries to enjoy. Josie's circle of friends consists of her fellow cops, the medical examiner, and her boss, each with a unique personality. Her family is initially small, but you'll see it expand as the stories progress. Not too many characters to keep track of - as they are integrated into each story. You'll have fun getting to know the characters and puzzling solutions. You'll find yourself muttering, "Wait ... what?" near the end of most books as the plots twist and surprises abound.

Not so hot. The first three books were poorly narrated by Eilidh Beaton as diction and child-like pronunciation were annoying. But stick with it as the rest are well read by Kate Handford. Production is fine, bumped speed to 1.4 - a preference, not a criticism.

The series is written by Lisa Regan and released from early 2018 through today. Bookouture published iinitially, later picked up by Hachette.

Recommended murder mysteries.

Really enjoyed this book. It just kept you going on and onr. Could not stop reading.

Another Great Thriller!

Josie is an awesome detective whether she is exhausted or well rested! Josie’s assignments keep getting better in each book.

Her books are wonderfully written. I feel as though I’m watching everything unfold because I’m there watching it happen. Not just listening to it but actually there. I’d never been transported from a book like that. All of the ones I’ve listened to send me there. Absolutely incredible.

Stunning story

thanks Lisa, we loved the whole series, they were all gripping stories. There is just one thing that offended us, was the blasphemy of Jesus as a swear word, you could have used “Oh Buddha” or “f###hammed” or “holy crap” but I guess you can only curse the True AND ONLY God! But we did enjoy the stories overall.

I love this series, but so far, Cold Heart Creek is my favorite of them all!
I had ABSOLUTELY NO idea who it was until the very end!!! :)
Josie's inner conflict made things even more interesting!
The ending was the sweetest!
I cannot wait for book #8! I'm sure they will just keep getting better!

great mystery, loved it a must read narrowrator was excellent also I really like this author.

A dead couple in the woods, a missing woman...

Can Josie and her team figure out the link between these three ppl and a local cult?
The first few chapters seemed a bit slow but then the story picked up steam. Not the best of the series but still worth the read/listen.

Excellent story line.

This is another good book by Lisa Regan. I’m looking forward to hearing the next one.
