Acerca de esta escucha

When small-town newcomer Logan Sawyer is wrongly accused, he never expects to find himself in the custody of Sheriff Ryker Wolfe, a rugged and dominant lawman with piercing blue eyes and an unsettling ability to see right through his defenses. Their confrontation sparks a surprising discovery: they're fated mates, a concept Logan never knew existed in a world where werewolves walk among humans.

As evidence mounts against Logan, whose crime novel bears eerie similarities to the real murder, Ryker races against time to prove his mate's innocence. But with a killer on the loose and dark secrets emerging from the past, their growing bond puts them both in danger. Logan must decide if he can trust Ryker with not only his freedom but also his heart, while Ryker struggles to protect his mate without revealing the supernatural world that could destroy everything they're building together.

In a small town where nothing stays secret for long, Logan and Ryker discover that sometimes the greatest mysteries aren't the ones you solve—they're the ones you fall in love with.

For a short book, lots of concerns.

Issues with repetition of information, no indication of chapter change for most of the book, and timeline inconsistencies. Errors that could have been fixed by a proper read through by a beta or otherwise.
Why would a female voice be used for a MM story? That was unnerving.

Somewhat entertaining

Initially I thought this would be a good listen for entertainment purposes but there were a ton of plot holes and things that just didn’t make sense *spoiler* like the human man conceiving and giving birth to children. I can typically suspend my belief in reality for a good plot but this just didnt make sense, and no attempt was made to make it make sense. I’m not entirely unconvinced this was made with AI.

Just awful

I this is just badly written and researched. I can't believe it is so highly reviewed. Anyone who has watched one crime drama or true crime show will see the author put zero research into police procedures. I could only make it through the first hour and a half before I gave up on this title and I feel dumber for it. How do you take you suspect/love interest to multiple crime scenes and put him in danger? How do you let the actual murderer go twice because you want to have a conversation with the love interest that should be there in the first place. I am literally fuming that I waste life listening to this awful, crap fest.

Could Have Been a Contender

In principle, a decent story idea. Execution was lazy. Dialog repetition, plot loops ( but didn’t this just happen), very little attention to building a credible relationship between main characters- fated mate doesn’t mean that the individuals know each other, in the better written novels this process is how we come to know our characters. I know absolutely nothing about the alpha beyond the fact that he is an alpha, pack leader and the town sheriff. An editor would have been a good investment, the story has a lot of potential maybe a rewrite and re-release? Audible, please write a blog post that discusses this tendency toward AI narrations, it is so unjust to authors that I would really like to read a nuanced discussion of this increasing usage, ie please let it be more than “it’s cheaper,” cause it is, but on the other hand, it is also really bad; more often than not I stop after the first few paragraphs, so please, say more.
