This book is addressing both the validity and contributions of mysticism to the Religion of Christianity, as well as the potential dangers of replacing sound doctrine with spiritual encounters and experiences.
That being said, there are things about a rigid, inflexible approach to spiritual enlightenment that have resulted in dogmatic doctrine that continue to separate us from our common wealth we share together in Him.
Christianity is nothing more than a powerless religion if it is devoid of valid spiritual encounters and experiences, and it is a common mistake to assume that Yahweh is limited to speaking to His people through a book or any other human resource. He continues to reveal Himself to people around the world who have never seen, heard or read a KJV 1611 Authorized Translation of the Bible.
