enjoyable

Everything was good. I thank God that I had a basic Mandarin class with writing in Pinyin so I can understand Pimsler better. Pimsler's repetition is reinforcing my memory of the basic sentences spoken in Audible.

The lessons flow together logically and the conversational nature used makes remembering words much easier than traditional methods.

if you stick to it it will work for you

you learn phrases, and then you learn how to switch the words in between, I did this with Spanish and it worked quite well as I was the very top of the class. That way it's learning grammar comes more easily

Great except for narrator that says random words

I've been listening to the Mandarin Pimsleur course on my way to work and it's been a godsend to help me communicate with my MIL. However, during certain parts, a narration would overwrite the lesson for about 3 seconds.

Overall a good audio book

I like the style and method they use to teach Chinese and I'm happy with my progress. however, I feel like the speed at which it goes on is very slow. I have a feeling it's gonna take me a very long time before I can actually have a conversation in Mandarin.

way overpriced, but really excellent otherwise

If you look at my reviews you will see I have purchased other audiobooks to learn Mandarin. I actually learned from all of them. Pimsleur seems to take the most time to make sure you get sentence structure, order, how to pronounce most words, etc. There are still words that they say fast one or two times and don't take the time to go over slowly. I'm thinking of the word for Mr and Miss in Lesson 8. Still I listen to this as much as I can, every time I am in the car, etc. and it really does help a lot. It is though extremely overpriced.

Best oral Chinese course

No written which is a shame because hearing and speaking retention for me has been nothing short of a miracle. The quizzing helps a lot more than one would think!

Effortless!

I never thought learning a new language could be so easy! Even something as seemingly complicated as Mandarin Chinese.
I'm now a firm believer of the Pimsleur system; it really works!
Simply repeat what you hear (aloud!) and answer the questions and before you know it you're able to carry on small conversations!
I am always looking forward to the next time I and pop in this book and learn more Chinese!

Excellent learning tool!

These guys are great are great at bringing something back to you memory right when you're about to forget it. I'm really impressed with their program. I feel like I get a lot accomplished in a single lessons.
