Masterful
Modiano often revisits real or fictional events he previously wrote about. Here, he revisits the events described in one of his previous novels - Remise de Peine (one of my favorites by him). A man remembers (that describes all his novels!) but this time the reader also remembers and this eerie parallel makes the book enjoyable at multiple levels. Here also he shows plainly the transition from memories to writing, evoking and quoting Proust directly. Masterful book, masterful reading by Podalydes. A joy to listen to.
