I enjoyed listening to "Checkmate" - a book chalked full of meaningful stories of a life lived (and learned!) that reminded me that the best is almost always yet to come. It can be very easy to focus on the challenges in our world, but Davis' perspective is a reminder that each of our life journeys offers so much wisdom. I enjoyed the way the author brought together the analogy of chess, along with important concepts of perseverance and strategic thinking. Set up in lessons, this book offers valuable stories and insights that leave the reader with important and applicable takeaways. As a retrospective of his own life, it’s also heartwarming to see what he has learned and his infectious attitude toward living life fully!

"CHECKMATE" is truly enjoyable and informational to listen to as the voices of the professional narrators are very soothing. This audiobook is enjoyable as Greg Davis captures his own real life scenarios and combines them with advice and wisdom from others in a way that makes Checkmate a crowning achievement. With ONLY one in five American’s stating that they are “very happy,” the challenges most of us face to checkmating unhappiness include overcoming unexpected obstacles, career issues, health, retirement and personal finances, and making a contribution to our friends, families and communities. After listening to his audiobook, I’ve reflected on my own goals, values, and overall happiness which has helped refocus what my priorities are in life and how best to move forward. I strongly recommend this audiobook on your next commute or long drive!

The author did a phenomenal job weaving in numerous beneficial concepts, and I especially enjoyed the focus on family and personal finance. A great read for anyone!
