Acerca de esta escucha

Christmas in the charming seaside village of Molena Point, California, has always been a traditional affair - but not this holiday season. Instead of singing carols and climbing into Christmas trees, Joe Grey, feline P.I., is faced with his most difficult case yet - and that's saying a lot for a wily tomcat who for years has been solving crimes the police can't even crack. A stranger lies dead beneath the village Christmas tree, with a little child the only witness to the shooting. As the police scramble for leads, the grey tomcat, his tabby lady, Dulcie, and their tortoiseshell pal, Kit, launch their own unique investigation. As they care for the child who may be the shooter's next target, the cats realize they're facing their most heartbreaking case yet—and that they must catch a cunning killer if they have any hope of saving Christmas.

By Far the Best for Me

I have only listened to a handful of these stories and this one is the best so far for me. I just enjoyed the story so much more than the others.

Nice to have Susan as narrator again

Nothing wrong with the previous book narrator, but the interpretation of the characters was different .

Murder Under the Christmas Tree

This may be the best one yet. I was so sad when a child's father was murdered under the Christmas tree at the town center in Molena Point, then dragged away from the little girl . . . whilst Kit watched in horror. I was thinking how in the world can this mess be turned around. And it took some doing, I am telling you. Charlie Harper was getting ready for her gallery open house featuring her art and her new book (about the tattercoat Kit), and the whole town is cheering her on. Then this latest crime has Max Harper on edge, as well as a break in at the home of Lucinda and Pedric Greenlaw. Are the two connected? There are a lot of things going on in the story, but its not hard to keep track of them all. I was fearful that a Merry Christmas would be elusive after all that had happened in the cozy seaside town, but amazingly all came out well, as Joe Grey, Dulcie, and Kit keep abreast of the evil afoot, and Max and Garza track the criminals to a hair raising conclusion.

21 books

I have listened to 21 Joe Grey books. I was unable to stop. I'm having withdrawals, I think I have listened to all of them. If not, someone please let me know. As a adult you may dismiss these book as childish. Don't, they are wonderful...

Excellent

IMO this was my favorite Smokey Joe story. The plot was good, the reading perfect and who doesn’t love a Christmas story?

Best Joe Grey Mystery Yet!!!

I love all of the Joe Grey series, however this book has been by far one of the best! Shirley Rousseau Murphy is a wonderful writer, and the narrator Susan Boyce is excellent. I’ll hate when I finish the series; I’ll probably find myself starting it it all over again…Lol.

Criminals don't take a holiday for Christmas

There are a lot of holiday celebrations planned but, unknown to Molena Point residents, there are multiple criminals gearing up to take advantage of everyone's Christmas spirit.

Initially the police are called to a murder only to find there is no corpse, although there is a young child smeared with blood. Later there is a home invasion and unsettling photographs are found. Joe, Dulcie, and Kit are in the thick of everything, trying to sort out their observations and assist the police with insider information.

I found this a very satisfactory mystery, number 13 in the series. There are a number of new characters but nearly all the primary characters are home for the holidays.

Susan Boyce is once again the narrator, which pleased me immensely.
