Since the war, her sultry services at the town's only tavern had withered away. Instead of despair, an unexpected wave of relief swept over her. She took her life savings and scant possessions and left the only home she'd ever known.
Canella didn't know where she was going, but she had sworn off the work she had conducted at the tavern. She had no plan on how she'd make money again or where she'd stay. She did not know, and at the moment, she did not care.
At least, not until she befriended the Count.
Whisked to his mountain-top manor under his employ for work, Canella found herself drifting easily into the loving arms of his assistant, Dove. Canella hadn't known love like hers, not even with her former lover, Treva.
But with the swirl of whispers of the recent reclaiming of the Castle of Odana on the tip of everyone's tongue, Canella doesn't know if the newly found friendships, love, and life in her manor-home can survive a war.
Further stoking her fear, Canella accompanies her new employer, the Count, on a journey to assist the soon-to-be-crowned King, Lanico, in a plan to wipe out the enemy of the crown once and for all. A plan that, if successful, could turn the tide in Odana's favor - forever...
