Acerca de esta escucha

Body cams and dashcams have fundamentally transformed law enforcement in recent years. These innovations can help prove someone committed a crime, or didn't. Real-life footage has cleared people initially accused of wrongdoing, and in certain instances even implicated officers. But that same type of footage can also be used to clear police falsely accused of misdeeds. From allegations of harassment or bias to false arrests or even criminal conduct, these videos can prove officers did not cross a line as, sometimes, they are alleged to have done.

Breaking Blue is the first book that shares real stories of cops accused of wrongdoing and subsequently cleared. Charges may have been brought against them, Internal Affairs may have started an investigation, but in many cases, thanks to the officer’s body cam or dashcam videos, the true story came to light, with charges ultimately dismissed or initial convictions overturned.

Sergeant Sean “Sticks” Larkin of the Tulsa Police Department Gang Unit and host of A&E show Live PD, presents real stories of officers falsely accused...including his own. Now, we can finally get both sides of the story for citizens and the police officers hired to serve and protect.

WOW! AWESOME!

If you're looking for the perfect audio book... you've found it! I'm going to get fired and divorced for abandoning my posts to continue to listen to this masterpiece, but compared to what these officers have gone through it is well worth it 🤪 You will not be disappointed!

I'm in awe.

I was never one to be a Sticks Fan girl like some who watched the show. I knew he was smart and witty but having listened to his telling of the facts regarding his own life and the lives of these Officers I have a new found respect for the man. I genuinely find myself now questioning the death penalty like never before and thinking seriously about how many people in prison may be there wrongfully, where before I figured it was such as small fractional number. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

Thank you

LE can be a thankless job. For those who choose the job, like myself; I am reminded of the rewards and reason I chose to do the job. Do the right thing even when it's hard and help my fellow man. These stories showed strength and resilience at their lowest moments. God bless them and to all my fellow LE.

Being in law enforcement is scary as H**L

As a retired law enforcement I escaped these type of harrowing experiences, unfortunately. However, one wrong lie/complaint, one vindictive person or fellow officer, or one politician trying to make a point and you are the target is very possible. More than these in this book. But this book gives the average citizen a taste on what can happen. It was very saddening to me, I appreciate what was written.

Every citizen should read this book. It is understandable that no one wants to get into the law enforcement profession.

“Sticks” wrote a book

Thank you for sharing these cases. We can all be more grateful for our freedom. A huge thanks to all those “good” apples who risk their lives for us everyday.

You don’t know until you’ve ride along

At first I guess I thought I was gonna be listening to more of a cop telling stories of a rest and things like that. But instead it’s a story of men and women love their profession falsely accused of many crimes lives destroyed not just the cops life but the lives of their family their friends and their relatives and anybody who befriended them. The sad part is how their fellow police officer

Run from them for fear of the stink getting on them and not knowing the facts. Unfortunately we all see something and assume the worst. Stepping back from an accusation is something that I learn to do personally being falsely accused at times of horrendous deeds and acts
And the sad part is sometimes it takes months or years for the truth to come out and by that time you’ve already got the smell the skunk on you and no matter what you do it never washes off.

In our own minds we know what the truth is and was and especially in this day of the Internet where it never leaves there is no fact checking on every story they just print with somebody post. And yes I will even say that The first amendment right to say what you want in public you should always be protected but understanding how far that right can be abused we must take the time to try to check out a story as deep as we can or more importantly before coming to final judgment take the time to see what the developing picture will finally show. At which time once all the facts are in once all the evidence is and then as they say you can decide but never do it when you first hear something. It’s human to be a A bit judge mental at the first bits of information. But just remember when you repeat the story put in there I don’t have all the facts and this may not be true especially repeating a story that you see online or did you get third hand. That’s what this book is about people lives destroyed and ruined because the facts were not found and sometimes for 20 years thank you sticks for the well done job of writing and reading because in your voice it made a connection with me personally because of your time on A&E

Excellent Story and Beautifully Narrated

I have watched Lt. Larkin in the Live PD series and his his forthright demeanor shined through. He delivers these compelling police stories in a manner that will keep you enthralled. I understand he has retired from the Tulsa PD and I’m sure his colleagues and the citizens of Tulsa miss his excellent police work. I appreciated hearing his story and the stories of other policemen who have dealt with false accusations and mistreatment. His empathy is evident in every case.
