Each person's experience with learning disabilities is unique, and often, these challenges are coupled with strengths that can lead to exceptional problem-solving abilities, creativity, and resilience.
Understanding what learning disabilities are is the first step in breaking the barriers they may impose, particularly in the pursuit of a doctoral education. For adults with learning disabilities and ADHD, navigating the rigorous demands of doctoral studies can feel daunting. However, it is crucial to recognize that these challenges do not define potential or limit success.
Many individuals with learning disabilities possess a wealth of knowledge and skills that can be harnessed effectively. By redefining the narrative around learning disabilities, we can empower ourselves and others to view these obstacles as stepping stones rather than insurmountable barriers.
