The skeleton is that of a young girl, no more than 14 years old – and forensic anthropologist Dr Temperance Brennan is struggling to keep her emotions in check. Coroner Yves Bradette is being evasive, insisting the bones are ancient and of no interest.

But it doesn’t quite add up, and a frustrated Tempe is convinced that Bradette is hiding something… It’s not Tempe’s case; she’s overwhelmed with more urgent work in the lab… But the nagging in her subconscious won’t let up. A memory triggered, deep in her hindbrain – the disappearance of a childhood friend; no warning, no explanation… Working on instinct, Tempe takes matters into her own hands. Another great story by Kathy and Lorelei nicely done really enjoyed this one, on to the next one

Reichs is at her best in Bones to Ashes. Tempe remembers the strange disappearance of childhood friend Evangeline, whom she is told is dangerous. The discovery of a book of poems which may have been written by Evangeline is investigated by Tempe and her sister Harry. Meanwhile Andrew Ryan is investigating the murders of 3 young girls, which may be linked to Evangeline's disappearance. A brilliant and captivating story, read by Lorelei King. A great read and listen, with shocking twists and a brilliant storyline.

Reichs at her best.
