Nach nervenaufreibenden und angstvollen Monaten sehnt sich die alleinerziehende Nynne Skaarup nach nichts Geringerem als Ruhe und Entspannung. Als Simon ausgerechnet das Ferienhaus neben Nynne und ihrem Sohn bezieht, scheinen Entspannung und Ruhe in weiter Ferne. Immer wieder bringt er Nynnes Blut aufgeregt zum Kochen, ohne etwas von sich preiszugeben.
Nur Eldar scheint auf Anhieb hinter Simons Fassade blicken zu können. Er ist es, der seiner Mutter verdeutlicht, dass jeder Mensch Geheimnisse mit sich trägt, die Narben hinterlassen, ob sichtbar oder unsichtbar.
