Acerca de esta escucha

Every once in a while a great race horse is born that will become famous throughout the land. This book is about such a horse. Perhaps even rarer comes a truly wonderful story about a horse and the human being closest to it. Two beings, horse and human, are bound in an unspoken love and respect which draws the finest from both of them.

This book by award-winning author Kathleen Peyton, tells their story. It is beautifully written and immensely moving in the properly unsentimental fashion that only a born horsewoman and writer could achieve.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Four-year-old Tessa is heartbroken when her parents divorce and she must leave Shiner, the blind horse that her father bred. She’s had a difficult life and has no interest in anything until she encounters the ugly but great racehorse Buffoon, who happens to be Shiner’s colt. Narrator Nicki Paull captures the difficult and angry Tessa and everyone she meets on the road to becoming a relative rarity-a female jockey. The story’s horse lore remains interesting for most listeners, thanks to Paull’s thoughtful delivery. Horse lover old and young will enjoy it." (AudioFile Magazine)

One of my favorites!!!

If you could sum up Blind Beauty in three words, what would they be?

Very well written horse story. The author either did her research well or is a rider herself, which is very important to me.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tessa, I loved seeing how her character developed as the story progressed. Her complete turnaround as a person, learning to care for someone other than her horse and herself. She's still a firecracker at the end but finally sees that people do love her and want to help her.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Tessa had a self realization about how many people actually cared for her, where helping her without it benefiting them.

Any additional comments?

wish there was a sequel or the book had been longer.
