Black Beauty is an autobiographical memoir detailing the journey of a horse, from his whimsical days as a young colt on a farm in 19th Century England, before moving on towards tough times hauling cabs in London and finally ending with a peaceful rest in the country.
The book is an account of Black Beauty's life and his point of view through his encounters which include many hardships and tales of cruelty, kindness, sympathy and often having to understand the inhuman and cruel attitude of people towards animals.
