Human bodies are puzzling, and mental illness plagues millions of people living in the world today. Sadly, most churches do not truly address the issue of mental disease and, as a result, Christians often believe that God can resolve a person’s mental issues, including actual disorders. People need to know it is okay to take medication, go to therapy, and work with medical doctors to treat their mental ailments and disorders. But that doesn’t mean that we should ignore help from God.
Jennifer Striegle, a passionate Christian who believes the church needs to express the difference between worldly grief and hardship and the concrete health issue of mental illness, shares a collection of daily devotionals intended to provide comfort and aid to those suffering with deep emotional pain caused by mental illness. While opening the door to the world as God sees it, she gently leads believers down an introspective path boosted by scripture, thoughtful questions, and prayers that encourage self-reflection, spiritual growth, and the knowledge all things are possible with God by our sides.
Beyond Imagination is a collection of daily devotionals, reflective questions, and prayers shared to provide reassurance and hope to those suffering from mental illness.
