Well, Shoot
L.T. Ryan is a go-to author for me. I can always trust him to deliver a top-notch read with superior characters and a blindingly fast-paced storyline. While this particular audiobook was not my favorite of his numerous reads, it is enjoyable. It's hard to know who to trust in this story of political intrigue and high-stakes assassination. The main characters, Clarissa and Beck, are complex and intriguing (although not always likable). Truly, the thing I'm most disappointed about is the fact that he never continued this series.

A unique political intrigue plot line!
Beyond Betrayal is the first and only novel so far in the Clarissa Abbot series by L.T. Ryan (of Jack Noble series fame). I hope he continues the series. Genre classification with this novel is difficult. The protagonist is a US espionage asset, but the plot has her in a domestic political intrigue role. I suspect the broad suspense mystery/thriller genre describes it best. The plot line is different from any novel I've read before. Author Ryan relentlessly builds uncertainty and suspense as the plot progresses. The novel elicits a "WOW" response from the reader/listener as the good guys and bad guys are sorted out at the end. Award winning narrator Khristine Hvam shows again why she is one of the best.
I recommend Beyond Betrayal to everyone who enjoys the mystery/thriller genre.

Great!.
Lots of twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very end. I really enjoyed Clarissa and Becks back and forth relationship. Feeling her frustation of not knowing if she could trust him or her gut in regards to him. I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys action and suspense.

Not for me
Slow moving. So complicated but too boring to try to figure it out. If you like getting hooked right from the start, this book is not for you either!
