Ghosts aside, listeners are in for a rollercoaster ride as they suspend their belief and get to know Cloud and his unique perspective as well as Laura's eccentric grandmother who once was a celebrated Madam, serving the elite gentlemen of San Francisco.

If you are one to "think outside the box" and want an exhilarating story with mind-expanding ideas presented in a skillfully written and entertaining fashion, then this book is for you.

Good-natured romance with ghosts

I’m not a fan of romances as a genre, so take it all with a grain of salt.

This was a lovely light story of an heiress hotel owner/semi-successful writer who falls for a cutting-edge-tech-ghost hunter. Naturally, her hotel, and her family’s history are interesting to him, and it all brings them together.

Oh. And the dog makes comments here and there. I’m not certain how I feel about that, but I didn’t utterly hate it. It was almost endearing.

I will say, however, this is one of those where the plot twist makes you want to throw the book. If you like that sort of thing, go for it. If you can’t handle it, read it anyway.

The only criticism of the narration is that she seemed a little too chipper at times for the circumstances. But I also acknowledge that was how the book was written. And I can’t imagine how to achieve the balance between lighthearted romance and very serious life issues.

Overall well written, interesting, decent flow.

Sorry, good narrator irritating!

So far, this is a cute story with a good premise and I look forward to hearing the rest of the story but I’m not sure I can finish it on Audible as a narrator is driving me insane. She’s very hard to listen to. She sounds like a 10 year old boy whose voice is changing and is way to sing songy for me. I may just cancel this on audible and go get the book.

Talking Dog?

I never thought I’d listen to a book with a talking dog. I actually looked forward to his insights into the characters personalities. The premise of filming ghosts with new technology was clever but sometimes the high pitched voice of the narrator was annoying.

Paranormal paradise

I loved reading this book for many reasons, It is a story of paranormal, addiction, and hope. Wonderfully written and narrated.
