I never knew Bevy’s story and I love it. The compassion and respect she has for her family and “framing” is inspiring. You’ve got to listen to it!

Excellent Book… More than I could have imagined!

I heard this book was hilarious and an excellent for me to download and listen too! Well I went expecting good and came out saying WOW! This really is an awesome, funny, well written book! I knew very little about Bevelations before hearing the book. I left wanting to know more. You are a real inspiration! Great book!

This was a great listen. I loved Bevy’s authenticity, honesty, transparency, confidence, fabulousness, and humility.

Gumbo for the Soul

Bevy’s book is a mix of humor, inspiration, history, self-help, entertainment and more. That is why I call it a “Gumbo” because it is such an eclectic mix of topics, it is in a category by itself. After finishing my soul felt nourished. It was the perfect way to start 2021 - with something encouraging and hopeful after the nightmare of the last four years.

I had no idea who Bevy was - cause I don’t watch daytime tv or listen to Sirius. But a fellow entrepreneur friend who knew Bevy when they both were in the entertainment field in NYC in the 80’s sent me a copy of an article where Bevy was talking about her book. Something about her story about reinvention sparked my interest. Especially since COVID19 is causing me to reinvent my business.

I bought the audiobook and could not put it down!! It took me a minute to get used to her Harlem accent which I found a tad grating at first. But after a few chapters my west coast ears got used to it. She doesn’t sound like or look like anyone else in the media eye - and that is one of the many things I found so refreshing. And her blunt honesty.

This is going to be the book I recommend to my book club when it is my turn to pick. If you liked Shonda Rhimes or Michelle Obama’s book’s, this is the next #BlackGirlMagic book to have in your library.

Bevy Smith's Bevelations book is a great listen. Amazing lessons and anecdotes and told in a way that you feel connected to her story and learn from her lessons.

I have no words for how much I move this beautiful work of art. Within the first 10 minutes I was laughing, felt understood, less alone and seen. I was also gagged at the honesty and straight up realness. Bevy Smith is a treasure and should be celebrated for her vulnerability and authenticity.

This book reminded me that it’s never too late to start over and follow your dreams. 5 stars across the board for this book. Now I need to but the hard copy to I can highlight all the little beautiful nuggets of truth.
