The first section contains tales of tortuous suspense, notably “High Stakes” about a man forced by thugs onto a six-inch ledge outside a hotel room 12 stories above the pavement. Every second of his vertiginous ordeal, trying to open a locked window, causes palpitations for the listener.

In the second section, Lutz spikes the menace with sophisticated comedy. “Understanding Electricity” is a delicious tale of a customer “overcharged” by a power company and scheming for revenge. He accomplishes this with a power outage and a literal shock. (“Watt now?” the office secretary asks herself as her electric typewriter dies.) Nevins appends a checklist of the author's publications.

WELL WORTH THE LISTEN!

BETTER MOUSETRAPS THE BEST MYSTERY STORIES OF JOHN LUTZ and narrated by KENNETH CAMPBELL consists of 35 amusing short stories of John Lutz's. The stories range from the totally strange to completely sublime and I loved every second of the audiobook!

I got hooked on the works of John Lutz just recently and enjoyed them so much I sought out more. BETTER MOUSETRAPS, in this listeners humble opinion is one of his best ! The stories take twists and turns you dont see coming, or do you? Either way its a totally enjoyable listen! Kenneth Campbell's narration makes the listening experience even better!

Good narration

Campbell as a narrator was the key with his many voices to listening to these stories. His voice added to them, and was enjoyable. The stories were good as usual by the author. Given audio for my voluntary review
