What a great story to fall for!

I was so excited when Brenda Tetreault decided to write another series! And this book DOES NOT disappoint! I was skeptical about my beloved new series being an audiobook (I get names wrong and sulk) but it brought the book to life and was perfect for listening while I commute! I can’t wait to hear the others!

A different kind of paranormal

This story was unlike any I had heard before. The director put a new spin on the paranormal that I really enjoyed. The characters were well developed and I fell in love with Gaela and Cain. It was an emotional roller coaster, one that the narrator pulled off extremely well. I love audio's we're the story can be told and I'm not distracted by the voice but drawn into the experience because of the voice. I would definitely recommend this audio and can't wait to get my hands on the next one.

Beloved

Not only do you get to read how Gaela and Cain end up, you get to know more about the other characters. I wanted to keep reading to see what happens but then not wanting the book to end.

Could have been better....

I must preface this review by saying this was the first book in the series I listened to and it was book 3.

I believe the book probably would have been better if I read 1 and 2 first. The third was a hard to get into because of the jumping around to different characters that I didn't know. But, even with this, it was a decent book. It took me a while to like the lead male character. (spoiler alert) He was so upset with her after he found her again. He had thought he had killed her in a previous book, but he was upset because she was hiding? And she felt bad she hadn't tried to reach out to him? A little unbelievable for me.

The narration could have been better too. A bit too monotone and her accents were horrible.

Love scenes don't need to be read at speed.

Love the books, love the narrator but slow down on the love scenes. Hot and heavy doesn't mean narrate at the speed of light.

I really enjoyed the story. The world and characters were really well created, and story well written. The world the author created piqued my interest and I will definitely pick up rest of the books in the series. I would suggest to read or listen to the previous books as I got a bit confused at times.

The narrator gave all the emotions justice and it was narrated brilliantly but for me a bit too fast paced. And slowing it down did not help. But overall amazing performance.

I would definitely recommend it!

Finally! These two get their story!

I was so excited to get these two characters story. They have really been on a trial. Their coming together has been difficult to say the least. The author did a good job finalizing their story. I was shocked and surprised a couple different times.

We get to see more characters including Caine and all his brothers. There are many different storylines running at the same time.
I did listen to this on audio. Sonja Field narrated this wonderful story. She did a great job keeping all the voices different but yet the same from story to story.

A good story

Narrator did a good job. She has a nice voice and gave a good performance. An enjoyable listen.

Have really enjoyed this series so far! I didn’t love this one as much as the first two, but still liked it. I think the main miss for this one with me is I just didn’t care for Gaela, and Gaela and Caine’s romance didn’t feel as touching and deep as the previous couples. They weren’t even an actual couple before the curse made him “kill” her; the story of them getting together in the past just didn’t work for me, felt like Gaela was too desperate. They don’t have the trust there between them since they really weren’t in much of a relationship, so she doesn’t really know who Caine is. Her lying and withholding his child from him is probably another reason I didn’t care for her; I get her thinking, but if she really knew him, she’d know that Caine would do everything in his power to protect them. If you have all this love for someone, wouldn’t you do everything in your power to find a cure for a curse upon them? Not just runaway and live in seclusion for 3 years. With that said, there is a good passion to their connection, and they do have some sweet moments. I also didn’t care for all the different POVs; apparently, everyone is finding their lust/soulmate. I got tired of the first meet scenarios with each couple. A lot of these possible future couples have cliffhanger endings too, so beware of that. The overall story is an interesting one though; some good danger, and I do like the overall vibe to this story. I still do like this series, and want to continue on with this author’s other books.

My favorite of this series (so far) well voiced, an all around excellent audiobook! 5 stars across the board!
