When Mikaila Ulmer was four, she was stung by a bee - twice in one week. She was terrified of going outside, so her parents encouraged her to learn more about bees so she wouldn't be afraid. It worked. Mikaila didn't just learn what an important role bees play in our ecosystem, but she also learned bees are endangered and set out to save them. She started by selling cups of lemonade in front of her house and donating the small proceeds to organizations dedicated to bee conservation. When she realized the more lemonade she sold, the more bees she could help, Me & the Bees Lemonade was born.

Now she sells her lemonade across the country. From meetings with Fortune 500 CEOs, to securing a deal on Shark Tank, to even visiting the Obama White House, Mikaila's lemonade and passion for bee conservation have taken her far.

Delightful, informative Business book

This is a delightful book about a little black girl that started a business at 4 1/2 years old! She did get help from her parents, but she was learning all the way. Her plight was to help save honey bees by selling lemonade that was sweetned by honey. It is full of inspiration, challenges, and just pure delight. I was a bit pissed at her giving 25% of the company for a 60K investment, however what do you expect from Shark Tank! Anyways, putting that aside. she has a lot of insight on many aspects of running an Earth friendly business. It’s fun positive story with lots of information on how she did it. It was a fun listen, and I might even listen to it again.

It was a delightful read! I am very satisfied with my choice to start my year with this read. Inspirational for all ages!

She is a Lighthouse

Makaela Ulmer is one if my recent Sheroes <3. Her mind, heart and drive is absolutely inspiring. Her book needed to be included as mandatory in formal education.

Out Of The Mouth Of Babes...

Excellent book. At 67, I found this book both enlightening and encouraging. Mikaila presented complex business concepts in clear actionable language. It really blessed me to hear how her parents are a constant source of direction, protection, correction and inspiration in her life. I highly recommend this book to ANYONE who has ever considered pursuing a dream.

I really liked this book, i read it for Battle of the Books. i would highly recommend this book as an audio book. best book ever!!! If your going to start a small business you should read this book.
