When Callie drags Blade back into the world of Immortal Dilemma, his resistance drives her into the waiting arms of Tristan, who shows her the true meaning of Bloodlust. But the very things that Callie fights so hard to save are the very things that fight to destroy her.

Vampire rock scene, in VEGAS!

Vampire rock scene, in VEGAS! Callie goes to Vegas with her cousin to see her ex-boyfriend who has become famous from a reality tv show and is also the star of the band, Immortal Dilemma. She thinks she needs to save him as he is spiraling out of control with addictions. What she doesn’t realize is that he is a vampire and there are other circumstances that keep him from leaving. In the midst of this she meets Blade. He is into music too and seems to be a pretty great guy. She spontaneously decides to stay in Vegas instead of going home. This is the first part of where I start to lose Callie. She is 18 and decides to stay in Vegas. But ok, she gets a job and things are going ok. The story keeps going and she is falling in love with Blade but can’t stay away from Tristan, her ex and vampire star. I got back into the story with the push and pull that she had to deal with between Tristan and Blade. At this point since she is spending more time with Tristan we start to understand his situation better. Things go from weird to crazy and to just plain terrible for Callie. As Callie tries to fight for her life, and the others she cares about, she gets into some super bad situations. I listened to this in an audiobook. The narrator was ok, I wanted to like her but sometimes I think that the narrator made Callie sound even more whiny and undecided with what she wanted to do. The story is good but sometimes it seemed like it took a long time to get to where it needed to be. I plan to continue the series because there was a huge twist at the end of the book and I have to find out what happens! 

Because... it was great

It was a great book because you don't know who to vote for, Tristan or Blade. Callie was so naive about the vampire world when she went on vacation to Las Vegas and tracked down her old friend, the rocker, Tristan. Blade was such a cutie and genuine. I don't know who I would have voted for to be with Callie. The hot rock star that she knew way back when or Blade, the wholesome, good looking, friendly guy she fell in love with. The end kind of left you hanging which is why I love the "Romance" package, I can get rid of this book in my library and start on the next in series. The narrator did a great job with the characters and their personalities.

Because...Who Knows Why?

I'm not usually one to complain about a free book, but I feel obligated to warn anyone who might actually spend money on this.

It's bad.

This is the kind of vampire book that has recently (i.e. since Twilight) made me embarrassed to admit that I love vampire stories the way I love breathing. And that kind of makes me mad.

Sure, Callie is an 18 year old girl who makes mistakes, but they're not very interesting ones, even if you throw in a hot undead rock star.

No real plot to be found here, no character development either. The only real emotion evoked by this tale is to feel very sorry for Blade, the other point to this sorry love triangle, for getting mixed up in the pages of this supposed narrative.

And to make matters worse, the narrator kind of has a lisp, or at least performs the main character as having one, and it is extremely annoying.

Beware, beware. Here, there be BAD writing.
