Leo has a secret: he is a shape shifter. He discovered his secret power when he was only a child and he kept it a secret for fear of being ostracized by her family and friends. After all, the ability to change shape into a bear is not something everyone has. As a result of his powers he has been unable to have a meaningful relationship all his life. However, all of this changes when he starts college because of two major events. The first of these two events is that he meets Tiffany, a girl that he falls in love with almost immediately because of how accepting, understanding and caring she is. The second of these two events is that he is approached by a man named Nigel. Nigel is part of a secret coven of shape shifters who want him to join them. Leo is initially overjoyed as he is finally able to feel accepted. However, he soon learns that this coven of shape shifters has plans to take over the world through violent means and he flees. He ignores Nigel’s attempts to contact him and starts a relationship with Tiffany. He eventually tells her about his powers and is shocked when she tells him that she accepts him for who he is. They fall madly in love and for a few days everything is perfect, until one fateful day when Nigel kidnaps Tiffany. Leo frantically contacts him, wanting to know what he has done with Tiffany. Nigel tells him that Tiffany must be killed because he told her about his powers. No human can know of the existence of the shape shifters, and as a result Nigel and the coven must make sure Tiffany never tells anyone about what she knows. Leo decides that enough is enough. He breaks into the coven headquarters and frees Tiffany, confronting Nigel in the process. Nigel tells him that shapeshifters are superior to regular humans and that their dominance is inevitable. Leo tells him that his parents are normal humans and that he will never let anyone hurt them. Leo and Nigel fight, and although he is injured he manages to beat him and escapes with Tiffany. Tiffany nurses him back to health and asks Leo what they will do now. Leo tells Tiffany that Nigel was the leader of the coven, and his death will stop the coven from harming anyone for a very long time. Tiffany and Leo become boyfriend and girlfriend and eventually she convinces him to tell his secret to his parents. He tells them and though they are shocked they accept him for who he is. Leo is overjoyed and realizes that, though he is different, he is not a freak. He is a wonderful person who deserves love.
