How ingenuity led to the Star Spangled Banner!
A must-read story about how the Star-spangled Banner was written. This short book describes how the people of Solomon Island were able to use familiarity with their waterways to outsmart the British Army. It describes how the narrative of the Star-Spangled Banner was written and is now used as the national emblem of the United States. I always wondered about the background of the song. The author used news reports of the time to help tell the story. A great listen buying good narrator.
